About Me

I'm a graduate student working on my doctoral degree in the Department of Mechanical Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy NY. My doctoral research is focused on developing an implicit block-structured mesh library (pumiMBBL) for large-scale simulations of Plasma-Material interactions. Over the last three years at RPI, I have also extensively researched on developing adaptive numerical methods for stochastic PDEs using multi-level/multi-fidelity uncertainty quantification (UQ) methods. Other research topics that I have worked on over the years and still interested in includes stabilized finite-element models for advection-dominated flows, high-performance parallel computing and applied math.

Research

My passion for applied mathematics and programming has been a key motivation for all the research projects that I have been involved during my time at IIT, Madras and at RPI. My doctoral research is on development of scalable mesh-based algorithms for massively parallel Particle-In-Cell (PIC) codes. My research interests includes high-performance computing, uncertainty quantification (both forward and backward propagation) with focus on multi-level/multi-fidelity models, mesh adaptation based on local discretization error and stabilzed finite-element based solvers for advection-dominated fluid flow problems. Please visit my research page for more details on the projects that I have been involved so far. Or directly skip to one of my four primary research works from below.

Other Projects

I was involved in some really interesting projects (as part of my coursework) during my time at IIT Madras and RPI. Please visit the course-project page for more details on these projects. Or directly skip to projects done during my master's or PhD programmes from below.
